James D. Goodwin, MS Associate Director, Communications Biography Jim Goodwin is associate director of communications, developing and implementing integrated strategic communications plans to advance PICI’s position as a leader and disruptor in the immunotherapy space, broaden awareness of scientific initiatives and increase the visibility of PICI’s programs and platforms. He oversees internal and external communications efforts, including network communications, and builds and leverages internal capabilities to support PICI’s mission across multiple verticals, including research and clinical development. A former legislative, business and legal journalist, Goodwin most recently led communications efforts at Siteman Cancer Center at BJC HealthCare and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where he oversaw internal and external communications and collaborated cross-functionally to create, influence and execute business development and brand awareness and reputation strategies. He also served on the steering committee of the national Public Affairs & Marketing Network of academic cancer centers, including as chair. Prior to that, he was communications director at a nonprofit established by medical research, civic, educational and biotech organizations to maintain the rights of scientists and patients to pursue promising therapies.
